Friends of Ft. Loramie!

On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 members of the Ft. Loramie area met at the American Legion to review the plans for the new park expansion! There was a lot of enthusiasm for the project and an overwhelming agreement to proceed and MAKE THIS DREAM A REALITY!

Redskin Memorial Park (located across from the high school) has 29 acres allowing space for the football practice field (already there), 2 softball diamonds, 1 girls softball field, 1 baseball field, playground, concession stand with restroom, 4 shelter houses, a Pavilion, walking path through the wooded area, parking area for 135 cars—etc, etc. This is a park that is guaranteed to benefit all ages and be a beautiful addition to our community!

The entire project has a big price tag—however we have been offered a $500,000 matching grant from the state of Ohio and we are determined to work hard to match these funds and receive this money! This is a real WIN for our community and we are ready (with your help) to meet this challenge! Building and funding this park is a BIG challenge—however the Ft. Loramie community has a reputation for creating a dream—and then working hard to MAKING THAT DREAM A REALITY and we are determined to continue this tradition!

But we need your help! No matter what your age—no matter how much or how little you want to be involved (even if only to spread an informed word on this new project) we need you! No matter how much or how little time or energy or financial support you can give us—we need all ages to come out and help us get organized and assist us in creating this beautiful addition to our community for generations to come! This grant is something we simply cannot pass up!

On Wednesday, September 28, 2016 community members will meet at the Legion at 7 PM to organize volunteers to get this dream started! We need a core group of people to organize how we make this park a reality! And we need YOU! Our hope is that people of all ages will come to show support and that we can begin the process of fully developing Redskin Memorial Park.

So please—mark your calendars to come—learn about this new project—bring your friends and family!

Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 7 PM at the Ft. Loramie Legion!

We hope to see you there!

Friends of Ft. Loramie!

We have great news! Ft. Loramie is in the process of expanding our park facilities! This will not only allow for adults and children to enjoy outdoor recreational activities such as softball and baseball but also nature walks on paths through the woods—and be a beautiful entrance to the town from the east!

Our town council has assigned councilmen Tim Boerger, Ryan Albers and Paul Eilerman to represent the town in getting the organizational process started to accomplish this expansion. This park is guaranteed to benefit members of our community and neighboring areas for many years to come. With its playground, shelter houses and recreational activities it is guaranteed to benefit people of all ages. But as always—improvement comes with a price tag. And we are on a mission to accomplish this goal with your help!

As is customary in Ft. Loramie we are asking for help from everyone and anyone who loves the outdoors, has an interest in playing softball or baseball, who loves a beautiful nature walk, who has family members now or in the future who would benefit from this beautiful addition to our community or simply just wants to “pitch in” and be a part of this new addition!

Our plan is to have an organizational meeting on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 8 PM at the Legion for anyone who might be interested in learning about, assisting or simply advising on ways to accomplish our goal. There will be a layout available that evening of the entire plan for the park. Our hope is to get started on this project in 2017 so we hope you will come and help us to make another dream a reality for Ft. Loramie!

Please mark your calendars and join us at the Legion on Wednesday, September 14th! We need everyone’s help to make this dream a reality!

Sincerely,

Tim Boerger
