Businesses wishing to be considered for this award should complete the 2015 Beautification Application.

The Chamber sponsors a Business Expo on the third Thursday of October during even-numbered years. The Expo allows all members the opportunity to come together to promote their business or organization at a central location for viewing by local and area residents as well as surrounding area businesses and community organizations. The only requirement to participate is membership in the Fort Loramie Chamber. There is no charge to participate, but booth space is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis as long as membership dues are current.

The Fort Loramie Area Chamber Directory is a bi-annual business directory of all Chamber members and related community organizations, providing information on each individual member. Inclusion in the directory is free to all Chamber members. Advertising costs are additional and depend on the size of the ad the member wishes to run. The directory is reprinted every odd-numbered year.

The Chamber partners with the Village of Fort Loramie and its various committees to work with business organizations throughout the state, to focus on and enhance the future economic development of the Fort Loramie area.

The Chamber arranges regular seminars and training sessions specializing in various subjects that the Chamber members have requested or the Chamber officers feel will benefit the businesses within the Chamber. Chamber membership entitles members to reduced rates for employer-sponsored group health plans. Typically members receive a three to five percent discount by obtaining their health insurance as a Chamber member. Currently the Chamber endorses the health insurance plans with Consumer Life Insurance Company (a subsidiary of Medical Mutual of Ohio) and Nationwide Insurance.

Other insurance-related products include relaxed enrollment requirements for Superior Dental Group Dental plans and Allstate workplace products . Also available are discounts on Section 125 plans when implemented with Allstate workplace products.

Chamber members are eligible for Workers Compensation discounts through Comp Management. Comp Management can provide Group Rating Programs that are available through the Fort Loramie Chamber. Chamber members are guaranteed the best possible group rating. Ratings are based on a member’s last four calendar years’ history of claims (i.e., 2007 would be determined based on 2002-05). If members are already paying a BWC policy, Comp Management will do a FREE REVIEW of their specific situation. In order to receive a free review, members need to complete the AC3 form (temporary authorization), which can be obtained from the Chamber upon request. In addition to obtaining the best possible rate, Comp Management will act as the member’s agent in case of hearings and/or settlements. Contact Tracy Buday, a representative of Comp Management at 614-760-8171 for more information.

The Chamber asks its members and the community to support all business members by patronizing local businesses that make daily contributions to the community with their time, talents, and investments. Members displaying the “Support Your Local Business” window sticker are an opportunity to support the Fort Loramie community.

For a number of years the Fort Loramie Area Chamber of Commerce has been a member of the Alliance of Ohio Chambers (AOC). This organization allows participating Chambers to use its total membership as leverage to obtain the best pricing for benefits that will meet the needs of its members. Alliances such as AOC were enabled by legislation passed in Ohio in the early 1990s. The focus of the legislation was small employer group insurance reform. AOC is currently comprised of 22 Chambers representing over 6,000 employers in West-Central Ohio.

When AOC was born, a partnership was developed with Summit Insurance Company to provide Chamber members with group insurance at discounted rates. On May 1, 2006, Summit Insurance Company was sold to Consumers Life Insurance Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Medical Mutual of Ohio. Consumers Life is committed to a continued relationship with AOC and continues to offer Chamber members discounted group insurance rates and enhanced value-added services. Other value-added services have also been negotiated for Chamber members. Nationwide Health Plans has been added as a second AOC-endorsed health care insurer. Nationwide specializes in high-deductible plans. They also offer a number of options within their plan designs to include HSA and HRA availability. Additionally, members can take advantage of specially negotiated programs offering full Section 125 plan administration for a fee-waived arrangement through AFLAC and discounts on long-term care insurance through a number of insurance companies.

The Fort Loramie Chamber and AOC are pleased to be able to offer members these cost-saving programs as a benefit of Chamber membership. Should you have questions about these programs, contact the Chamber at [email protected] or your local insurance professional.
